ビルボードアセットは、ビルボードレンダラー を使用する目的で複雑なメッシュを事前にレンダリングした画像の集まりです。カメラからいくらか離れたところにあるオブジェクトを低い level of detail (LOD) でレンダリングして時間を節約するためです。
ビルボードアセットを生成する最も一般的な方法は、SpeedTree Modeler でファイルを作成し、Unity にそれをインポートする方法です。また、スクリプトから独自のビルボードアセットを作成することも可能です。詳しくは、スクリプトリファレンスの BillboardAsset を参照してください。
