Clumping workflow
To create and work with clumps:
- Create the initial clump set (Create curves from strands, Create clumps from curves, and Create a clump set)
- Adjust the clumps to your liking through the settings (Adjust the clump settings)
- Sculpt the clumps using the Comb Tool (Use the comb tool to sculpt a curve set)
In general order of the workflow, the basic options for clumping are listed in the following table along with a link to each page describing the option.
| Workflow | Description |
|---|---|
| Create curves from strands | Create randomized curves from strands of hair. |
| Create clumps from curves | Create clumps from curves in a fur node with a curve group. |
| Create and use multiple clump sets | Create different clump sets for different areas of a groom. |
| Adjust the clump settings | Access and change a clump set's properties through its settings menu. |
| Use the comb tool to sculpt a clump curve set | Select and comb curves. |
| Randomize clumps | Break up strands within clumps by randomizing strands. |
| Resize curves from existing hairs | Freeze clump strand transforms and reset strand lengths to resize curves. |
| Add more strands to a clump | Add more strands to a clump by increasing the clump curve radius. |
| Delete a clump curve connected to a Fur node | Disconnect or delete a clump curve connected to a fur node. |
