Use the placeholder sprite

Your new placeholder spriteA 2D graphic objects. If you are used to working in 3D, Sprites are essentially just standard textures but there are special techniques for combining and managing sprite textures for efficiency and convenience during development. More info

appears as a white shape in the asset folder you currently have open. The new sprite’s name defaults to its shape name but you have the option to rename your sprite when it is first created. If you are not sure what you want to call it, leave it as the default; you can change it later by clicking on it.

  1. Name your new sprite (or leave it to default.

  2. You can drag and drop your placeholder sprite into the SceneA Scene contains the environments and menus of your game. Think of each unique Scene file as a unique level. In each Scene, you place your environments, obstacles, and decorations, essentially designing and building your game in pieces. More info
