Paint attributes tool
The Paint attributes tool lets you paint density, strand width, and other attributes onto a paintable mesh.
For more information, refer to the Paint attributes tool settings and Define the shape and density of your groom.
Density
You might not want hair on every part of your mesh (the "hairy ears" problem). Control the hair density through a density map.
Paint fur density map values on the paint mesh. A value of 1 is 100% density, as set in the Master Density for the Fur node. For more information, refer to Fur node attributes. As the map shades towards 0 (0% density) the density decreases. For example, if the Master Density is set to 60, an area painted at 0.5 has an effective density of 30.
Tip
It's better to set the density to 0% then paint the areas where you want hair, instead of starting with the density at 100% and painting out the areas where you don't want hair. Learn how to define where hair grows.
Strand width
The map value applies as a multiplier on the strand width, as set in the Fur node attributes.
