Manage generators
Add, duplicate, link, or delete generators to build and change your model with geometry such as trunks, branches, leaves, and decorations.
Add a generator
In the Generation Editor toolbar or Tree Window toolbar, select Add and choose an option from the menu.
If a generator is selected when you add a new generator, the new generator is a child of that generator and automatically linked to it. If nothing is selected, the new generator is a child of the Tree generator. Drag and drop the generator icon in the Generation Editor to change the parent.
Duplicate a generator
In the Generation Editor, select a generator icon and select Actions > Duplicate or copy and paste it into the Generation Editor.
Note
Generators placed this way aren’t in the hierarchy until you link them. Any generator that can’t trace links back to the Tree generator is ignored and doesn’t affect the model in any way.
Link a generator
In the Generation Editor, drag and drop a generator icon onto another one.
When you drag and drop a generator icon onto another one, the old link is deleted and a new one is created. To delete a link, select it and press the Delete key.
Delete a generator
In the Generation Editor, right-click on the generator icon and select Delete.
Note
The Tree generator is always present and can’t be deleted or moved. The Tree generator acts as the root of the hierarchy and houses many of the global model properties.
