    Generate Collision Objects window reference

Use the Generate Collision Objects window to automatically add collision objects to a model based on the model hierarchy. This tool tries to place collision objects in optimal areas, but some manual editing of the objects may be necessary.

To open the window from the Tree window toolbar, select Scene objects > Collision objects > Generate collision objects. You can also open the window from Tools > Generate collision objects.

For more information about collision objects, See Collision objects.

    Property Description
Clear existing objects Remove all collision objects currently on the model.
Branch capsules Generate capsule collision objects from branch nodes.
Number The number of capsules to generate. The tool starts with the largest volume branches (usually the trunk) and works its way down until it reaches the specified number of capsules.
Encompass percentage The approximate percentage of each branch that the capsule covers, from 0.0 to 1.0. A percentage of 1.0 may appear too large, as it’s trying to encompass the entire branch even though the branch may be very contorted.
Spheres Generate sphere collision objects from leaves, mesh forces, or zones.
Leaves Generate collision spheres from leaves.
Mesh forces Generate collision spheres from mesh forces.
Zones Generate collision spheres from zones.
Number The number of spheres to generate. In general, higher numbers generate smaller spheres and lower numbers generate larger ones.
Encompass percentage The approximate percentage of each leaf cloud the sphere covers, from 0.0 to 1.0. A percentage of 1.0 may appear too large, as it’s trying to encompass the complete extents of a leaf cloud.
