The Noise mask applies a pseudo-random output to your brush: a combination of a noise type and a fractal type. Adding noise to a brush adds variety to your brush set without adding brushes. Noise is a good way to create a non-uniform, natural look for your terrainThe landscape in your scene. A Terrain GameObject adds a large flat plane to your scene and you can use the Terrain’s Inspector window to create a detailed landscape. More info
