It’s important to profile your application on the device you are developing the application for. You can profile your application in the Unity Editor to get an idea of how it will perform, but the hardware differences between a desktop development machine and a mobile device mean that, to get a clear understanding of how the application will perform for your end-user, you must profile it on a target device. There are also mobile-specific performance characteristics which you can only profile on a device. For example, the affect on battery life.
