    Transfer Paint Mesh Attributes Options

Import or export a texture sequence (.exr file) or point cloud (.dam file) to transfer paint mesh attributes between meshes.

Find these options at Wig > Strands > Paint > Transfer Paint Mesh Attributes.

For more information about paint mesh attributes, refer to Paint attributes tool.

    Settings

    Property Description
Mode Choose to import or export paint mesh attributes.
Export Export the selected paint mesh.
    Import Import a paint mesh.
File Type Choose how to import or export.
Point Cloud Import or export a point cloud (.dam file).
Texture Sequence Import or export a texture sequence (.exr file). Note that importing or exporting a texture sequence works with multiple UDIMs and relies on the UVs between meshes.

    Import by point cloud options

These properties are available only for importing point cloud files.

    Property Description
Transfer By Choose how to import the file.
World Space Import by world space. Use this option when UVs don't match between paint meshes.
UV Import by UVs. Note that you can import a point cloud to a specific region on the paint mesh via vertex selection. This function is helpful for mirroring sections from one side to another or updating only a section of the groom without impacting the rest.
Mirror Choose how to mirror the imported file.
    None Don't mirror.
    X Mirror on the x-axis.
    Y Mirror on the y-axis.
    Z Mirror on the z-axis.

    Property Description
Density Scale Import or export the selection as a density scale map.
Width Scale Import or export the selection as a width scale map.
