    Move hairs with wires

The Wire-Pin tool generates guide curves that deform individual fur strands or groups of strands. You can use it to make very specific changes to individual strands (setting up a custom flyaway, for instance), or to create a set of guide curves to use as inputs for other operations such as clumping. You can also select an area for detailing with the Wire-Pin tool. For an overview of the tool, refer to Wire-Pin tool.

    To move hairs with wires:

    1. Select the Fur node.
    2. Do one of the following:
      • In the Wig Grooming shelf, select Wire-Pin Tool .
      • From the Wig menu, select Wig > Grooming Tools > Wire-Pin.
    3. Click and drag to select an area of hair to edit. This creates a Wire Pin node.

To comb individual or groups of hairs:

    1. Use the Comb Tool with the Wire Pin node selected to click and drag (comb) individual or groups of hairs.

In Tool Settings, you can also change the Control Mode, create or manipulate a wire-pin, change the Selection Mode, and adjust the display settings. Refer to Wire-Pin tool settings.
