    Eccentricity tool settings

Customize the settings for the Eccentricity tool. For an overview of the tool, refer to Eccentricity tool. If you want to learn how use the tool, refer to Add a wave to your hair.

The brush tip details are as normal, and you can use the spline controls to set the brush effect falloff and the opacity falloff.

    Brush Settings

    Property Description
Radius Adjust the radius of the brush.
Falloff Adjust the falloff of the brush.
Falloff Profile Set the size of the falloff area. The effect of the brush gradually decreases across the falloff area.
Strength Set the overall strength of the brush effect.
Strength Profile Set the root to tip strength of the brush.
Strands Affected Set the percentage of strands modified.

    Eccentricity Settings

    Property Description
Control Mode Select how to curve the hairs.
Wave Add a slight wave to the hair. This pushes the hair out on one axis.
Helix Curve the hair in a spiral. This pushes the hair out on two axes.
Randomize Choose whether to randomize the wavelength and amplitude of the curve. If you are randomizing the value, set the limits in the Min and Max values, and the value applied falls between these limits. If you are not randomizing the value, set the Min value in the Wave Length Min or Amplitude Min properties below. This is the actual value applied to the hair.
Wave Length Randomize the length of the wave to add to the hair. Lower settings make the tool apply more waves to each hair, which distorts the hair more.
Amplitude Randomize the size of the wave to add to the hair. Use a low value for a subtle effect or a higher value for serious distortion.
Mirror Randomizer If you are randomizing values, generate a random value between the set minimum/maximum values and their inverse values. For example, if Mirror Randomizer is on and the Wave Length Min is 0.5 and Max is 0.8, Wig randomizes the value between 0.5 and 0.8, and -0.5 and -0.8. It does not select a value between -0.5 and 0.5.
Handle Penetration Push hairs onto the surface of the groom. Turn this off if you want to push hairs through the surface of the groom.
Randomize Offset Add a random offset to the wave. This controls how far through the full wave length the curve starts at. For example, if this is at 0.2, the hair takes the shape from 20% into the wave. Use it to help break up the effect of the brush. If you check On, you must set the minimum and maximum offset values. The added random offset falls between these limits.
Offset Min Set the minimum random point on the wave length that the curve begins.
Offset Max Set the maximum random point on the wave length that the curve ends.
Wave Length Min Set the minimum value for the wave length.
Wave Length Max Set the maximum value for the wave length.
Amplitude Min Set the minimum value for the amplitude of the wave.
Amplitude Max Set the maximum value for the amplitude of the wave.

    Flood

Flood the Tool Settings onto the selected Fur node.

    Note

You must set values for both Wave Length and Amplitude. If either of these are left at zero, the Eccentricity tool has no effect.
