Coil attributes
The coil attributes impact the shape of the coils.
Refer to Shape the curls and Coil tool for more information.
To find these attributes, select a coil input curve and go to Attribute Editor > Extra Attributes > Coil Properties.
Property | Description |
---|---|
Natural Radius | Set the overall radius of the coils. Once the overall radius is set, you can make local adjustments along the curve using the Coil manipulator. |
Natural Pitch | Set the overall spacing between the coils. Once the overall pitch is set, you can make local adjustments along the curve using the Coil manipulator. |
Linear Mass Density | Set the mass to length ratio of the hair. Increasing the linear mass density causes the helix to stretch more toward the root, which is useful for modeling wet hair. |
Bending Stiffness | Set the coil's resistance to bending. |
Twisting Stiffness | Set the hair's resistance to twisting. |
Root Phase | Set the rotation of the coil around its center line. |
Root Blending Length | Set the position of the root of the helix curve, allowing you to blend the root of the helix and the root of the center line over a distance. |
Heterogeneity | Set how heterogeneous the coil is. Heterogeneity generates random changes in the natural pitch of the helix, introducing variations in the coil. |
Perversion Density | Add helical perversions to the curve, replicating helical perversions seen in strands of curly hair. |
Seed | Set the seed value to control randomness. |
Num Samples | Set the number of helical segments used by the physical model. Increasing this number improves the accuracy of the simulation at the cost of performance. |
Output CV Density | Set the number of points generated on the output curve of the helix according to its length. |
