Clumping
Clumping brings hairs together in small groups. Wig has a powerful Clump tool that lets you create clumps throughout your furset. This is a key workflow that allows you to add texture and variety to your groom.
The image below illustrates a groom that has been clumped.
To create clumps, you can use a set of guide curves or a wmPelt
mesh. For information on how to create clumps using a pelt mesh, refer to Create clump from pelt options.
Whether you use a set of guide curves or a wmPelt
mesh, all hair on the furset is clumped to the curves. By default, all hair is clumped to the closest curve.
If you create individual clumps by clicking on the furset, only the hair covered by the clump radius is clumped. You can change the area of influence of each curve.
Clumps are arranged within the the clump node into clump sets. You can change the details of each set individually, including the clump profile and eccentricity of the hairs within the set. As you select a clump set, the clumps within that set are color-coded.
Note
You may need to make further edits on your groom with strand-based tools. However, strand-based tools are overridden when clumps are active. Do not adjust strands that have clumps connected to them, because any strand edits are removed if the clump it belongs to is modified.
