Trim properties
Use the Trim properties to control the behavior of the Trim tool and manage your trim edits.
To access the Trim properties, set your model to Freehand mode then select Trim.
Trim mode
Select the mode that defines the behavior of the Trim tool when you use it.
Property | Description |
---|---|
Cut | Cut the branch. |
Stop | Shrink the entire branch so it ends at the indicated point but is not cut off. |
Prune | Remove the branch and its descendants. |
Untrim | Remove trim edits at the indicated point. |
Hierarchy Level Range
Manage the range of branch levels from the hierarchy to make eligible for trimming when you use the Trim tool. This protects from trimming any branch level outside this range.
Property | Description |
---|---|
(Left value) | Set the minimum branch level eligible for trimming. |
(Right value) | Set the maximum branch level eligible for trimming. |
Show range | Highlight all tree elements currently eligible for trimming when you use the Trim tool. |
Clear buttons
Undo your trim edits according to targeted contexts.
Button | Description |
---|---|
Clear selected | Remove any trim edits from the selected branch. This option is only available when you select a trimmed node. |
Clear selected + descendants | Remove any trim edits from the selected branch and its descendants. This option is only available when you select a trimmed node. |
Clear all | Remove all trim edits. This option is only available when you have made trim edits. |
