    Mesh detail generator

The Mesh detail generator creates surface details from a material and 3D mesh and blends those details into the parent.

To create surface details from a flat mesh, refer to the Decal generator. To generate surface details procedurally, refer to the Knot generator.

    Prerequisites

To use the Mesh detail generator, you need a material with a 3D mesh assigned to it.

    Placement on the parent

The Mesh detail generator places the 3D mesh on the surface of the parent. The mesh attaches at its origin and can wrap around the parent or sink into the parent at its edges.

Use the Edge source generator property to adjust how the Modeler detects the edges. For the best results, paint the edges with a vertex color.

    Blending

This generator uses vertex blending to blend the mesh into the parent. For that reason, you don’t need to include an opacity map on your material.
