[6.7.0-pre.1] - 2026-09-18
Added
Added the Spatial Entities: Raycasts feature. Refer to Ray casts for more information.
Added support for
XRPlaneSubsystemDescriptor.supportsPlaneSubsumption. Refer to Plane subsumption support for more information.Added support for the
XR_ANDROID_spatial_component_subsumed_byextension to the spatial plane subsystem. Refer to Handle subsumed planes for more information.Added an image tracking provider that implements the AR Foundation XRImageTrackingSubsystem. Refer to Image tracking for more information.
Added support for attaching anchors to trackables (bound anchors) via
SpatialAnchorSubsystem.TryAttachAnchor, backed by theXR_ANDROID_spatial_entity_bound_anchorextension. When supported, attached anchors report their parent trackable throughXRAnchor.parentId.
Changed
- Changed the minimum dependency version of AR Foundation from 6.6.0 to 6.7.0-pre.1.
- Changed the minimum dependency version of OpenXR Plug-in from 1.17.1 to 1.19.0-pre.1.
Fixed
- Fixed issues related to the
AutoStaticsCleanupAttribute, as required by Unity versions 6000.7.0b1 and newer.
[6.6.0] - 2026-07-09
Changed
- Changed the minimum dependency version of AR Foundation from 6.6.0-pre.2 to 6.6.0.
- Changed the minimum dependency version of OpenXR Plug-in from 1.17.0-pre.2 to 1.17.1.
- Changed the minimum dependency version of XR Core Utils from 2.6.0-pre.2 to 2.6.0.
Fixed
- Fixed
SpatialAnchorSubsystemso that information about recently saved anchors isn't lost if the provider processes a discovery snapshot that was taken before the anchor was saved. - Fixed the Spatial Entities Anchors feature so that if you have the Automatically Load Saved Anchors setting enabled, anchors can still be loaded if the runtime wasn't tracking them on Start, but was able to track them later in the session.
- Fixed the marker provider so that it no longer leaks resources when getting the string or bytes data associated with a marker, or in other rare cases.
- Fixed a rare issue where the marker provider could incorrectly report that getting string or bytes data succeeded when the OpenXR runtime returned an error for the operation.
- Improved performance of async operations when running in Edit mode in the Unity Editor.
[0.1.0-exp.2] - 2026-06-04
Added
- Added
SpatialAnchorFeature.automaticallyLoadSavedAnchors, which allows you to set this property via C# scripting in addition to the existing editor UI. - Added
SpatialSetupConfigurationProvider, a new base class for some OpenXR Features in this package.
Changed
- Changed minimum dependency version of AR Foundation from 6.6.0-pre.1 to 6.6.0-pre.2.
- Changed subsystem life cycle to adopt AR Foundation's
XRSubsystembase type. Previously, subsytems were created asynchronously by theSpatialSetupFeature, and could be started synchronously. Now, subsystems are created synchronously duringXRLoader.Initialize, but must be started asynchronously viaXRSubsystem.TryStartAsync. - Changed the namespace of
OpenXRResult<T>fromUnityEngine.XR.OpenXR.NativeTypestoUnityEngine.XR.OpenXR.Features.SpatialEntities. - Changed the anchor provider to no longer log an error if a persist operation fails because the entity is not found. Check the return value of
TrySaveAnchorAsyncfor any status code information.
Removed
- Removed
SpatialSetupFeature.setupOnSessionCreate, as subsystems are now created synchronously duringXRLoader.Initialize. - Removed
SpatialSetupFeature.TrySetupSpatialContextAsync. Subsystem implementations are now responsible to get or create spatial contexts, rather than theSpatialSetupFeaturebeing responsible to create subsystems. - Removed
SpatialSetupFeature. This class still exists internally, but no longer has any public API. This OpenXR feature is now Hidden in your Project Settings, and will be automatically enabled or disabled based on whether any dependent features require it.
Fixed
- Fixed rare edge cases with the marker subsystem life cycle where a marker could have been incorrectly reported as updated or removed without first being added.
- Fixed a rare edge case where an anchor that was destroyed and recreated within the same frame, with the same entity ID, would not be reported as updated when
GetChangeswas called. - Fixed the anchor provider so that anchors can no longer be reported as updated on the same frame that they were removed.
- Fixed the anchor provider so that no update snapshots are leaked if the OpenXR runtime fails to update an anchor.
