    Unity Forma user interface

    The Unity Forma package runs in the Unity Editor. You can open the Unity Forma windows from the Forma menu.

    Note: Forma mode has been removed. To configure this layout so that the interface resembles Forma Mode, refer to Customizing your workspace.

    User interface

    Window Description
    Configurator Shows controls and tools for setting up and exporting your configurator application (refer to the Configurator window). Includes the following tabs:
    • Product Setup
    • Environments Setup
    • Camera Setup
    • Rules Setup
    • Build Setup
    Profiles Shows profiles that combine products, environments, and settings (refer to the Profiles window).
    Hotspot Shows the list of hotspots for the project, product, or environment and the controls for adding and grouping hotspots (refer to the Hotspot window).
    Product Outline Shows the hierarchy of the parts of a product (refer to the Product Outline window). You can select items in the Product Outline to assign to specific variants.

    Configurator window

    The Configurator window shows controls and menus to set up and export your application. The tabs guide you through the tasks you must complete to successfully import your product files and build an application that your consumers can use.

    To open the Configurator window, go to Forma > Window > Configurator.

    Product Setup tab

    In Unity Forma, the term product describes the 3D model you import and the collection of variants and materials that you use to show the model to consumers.

    The Product Setup tab lets you import product models and define the visibility and material variants for the identifiable parts you want to expose to consumers.

    Environment Setup tab

    Environments are 3D backgrounds that you add from Unity scenes to position your product in.

    The Environment Setup tab lets you manage any environments you add.

    Camera Setup tab

    Cameras are saved perspectives of your product. Each camera view exists independently of environments and products.

    Rules Setup tab

    Rules are the logic you use to determine which content consumers can see in the configurator at any given time.

    The Rule Setup tab lets you customize and order rules for your configurator.

    Build Setup tab

    Builds are collections of settings that you use to export your configurator to different platforms and operating systems.

    The Build Setup tab lets you define builds for all the platforms you want to support.

    Profiles window

    Configurator Profiles combine builds, environments, and products into reusable profiles that you can use to quickly export configurator applications for different platforms, markets, and product offerings. You can also customize the quality of the images that the system exports.

    To open the Profiles window, go to Forma > Profile Settings. Profile Settings window

    Hotspot window

    Hotspots let you showcase the different functionalities and abilities of your product to consumers in the configurator. The Hotspot window lets you add hotspots for the most important features of your product and set up interactive experiences that let them explore each feature in detail.

    To open the Hotspot window, go to Forma > Window > Hotspot. Hotspots panel

    The Product Outline window lists the parts of a product. Drag the parts into the Product Setup tab to create visibility and material variants.

    To open the Product Outline window, go to Forma > Window > Product Outline.
