Declaration

public static bool TryGetParentBuild(GUID buildSessionGuid, out GUID parentBuildSessionGuid);

Parameters

Parameter Description
buildSessionGuid The unique session GUID of the build to look up.
parentBuildSessionGuid When this method returns, contains the session GUID of the build it ran inside, if found.

Returns

bool true if the build is tracked in the build history and has a recorded parent; otherwise false.

Description

Attempts to get the build that a build ran inside.

The parent is recorded when the build runs. The value is returned regardless of whether the parent build is actually still present in the build history. For example it could reference a build that has already been deleted by the retention policy.
