Save and reuse search queries

Save and reuse queries. You can save queries only for yourself, or save them to the project to share with others.

Save searches

Saving searches allows you to keep useful searches to reuse as needed. Save the search to your personal Unity for your own use (User), or save it to the project as an asset so that anyone working on the project can use it.

To save a search:

  1. Open the Search window and create your search.
  2. Select Save, then select Save User to save it for yourself, or Save Project to save it to the project.
  3. If you selected Save Project, enter a file name in the Save search query window, and select Save.

Your search is added to the Saved Searches panel in the Search window.

  1. To save again after making changes, highlight the search in the Saved Searches panel, then select Save and choose the option that shows your search’s name.

Find saved searches

To find a saved search:

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon in the Saved Searches panel.
  2. Enter your saved search name, or a part of the name. If found, it will appear in the panel.
