Braid curve attributes

These attributes can be found in the Extra attributes section of the braid's curveShape node.

Braid Layout Params

Attribute	Description
Num Strands	Number of strands in this braid.
Knot Size	The size of a braid pattern element, i.e. the wavelength.
Knot Offset	The offset of the first braid pattern element, i.e. the phase.
Knot Heterogeneity	Random perturbation of the braiding pattern.
Braid Radius	Base radius of the braid.
Braid Thickness	Base thickness of the braid.
Strands Radius	Relative radius of a braid strand.
Strands Thickness	Relative thickness of a braid strand.
Strands Heterogeneity Freq	Random displacement of the braid strands.
Strands Heterogeneity Range	Magnitude of the random displacement.

Braid Properties

Attribute	Description
Topology
Sampling Rate	The number of output points per unit length of the braid curve - controls the output topology.
Max Num Samples	The absolute max number of samples that can be produced, no matter how long the braid curve is.
Num Radial Div	The number of segments used when tessellating the profile of a braid strand.
Random Seed	Initial seed that controls the various random distributions.
Tapering	Progressive reduction of the braid radius along its length.
Freq Scaling	Scaling of the braiding pattern with tapering.
Strands Smoothness	Smoothing of the braid strands.
Fly Away Loop Offset	Maximal distance between a flyaway fiber and its strand.
Num Fibers	Number of fibers in this braid (shared between the strands).
Fly Away Loop Probability	Probability of the occurrence of a flyaway loop.
Fly Away Loop Variance	Magnitude of the flyaway loops.
Fly Away Tip Probability	Probability of the occurrence of a flyaway tip.
Fly Away Tip Variance	Magnitude of the flyaway tips.
Fly Away Tip Length	Optional extension of the flyaway tips.
Fly Away Tip Clustering	Clumping of the flyaway tips.
Fly Away Tip Cluster Skip Ratio	Probability for a flyaway tip clump to be discarded.
Fly Away Tip Num Clusters	Size of the flyaway tip clumps.
Fiber Twisting	Twisting of the fibers within the strands.
Fiber Width	Width of a fiber.
Fiber Tip Scale	Scaling of the width at the tip of a fiber.
Fiber Tip Scale Offset	Position from the tip of the fiber where scaling begins.
Fiber Tip Retraction	Random retraction of the fiber tips.
Fiber Tip Retraction Range	Magnitude of the random retraction.
Fiber Tip Cap Extent	Capping of the fibers near the tip of a strand.
Fiber Tip Cap Shape	Shape of the capped fibers.
Tuft Tie Start	Position of the tie section, starting from the tip of the braid.
Tuft Tie Len	Length of the tie section.
Tuft Tie Radius
Tuft Transition Len	Length of the blending region between the braid and the tie.
Tuft Radius	Radius of the tuft at the tip of the braid.
Tuft Thickness	Thickness of the tuft at the tip of the braid.
