    Animate Braids

    Lock Topology mode

    By default the braid pattern adjusts automatically according to the length of the curve.

    This behavior is convenient when grooming (making a curve longer does not modify the original section of the braid), but can cause problems when animating the braid curve: small fluctuations in the length of an animated curve are unavoidable and could cause the topology of the model to change over time.

    You have the option to fix the topology of the braid when the curve is animated. This is achieved by choosing a reference pose for the braid curve. The output braid topology is then computed as if the braid curve was in this reference pose.

    To set the reference pose, click the Set Ref. Pose button on the wmBraidCore node:

    The topology can then be fixed by selecting the Lock Topology box on the wmBraidCore node:
