Welcome to Wig
Wig is Unity's hair modeling Maya plugin. It lets you dynamically paint hair onto a polygon surface, either using a set of curves to control the initial groom or just painting it on directly. As you deform the polygon mesh, the hair follows the deformation. Wig is the latest generation of Wētā's hair modelling tools.
Wig lets you use guide curves to control and sculpt your groom, without tying you to these curves: once you have the hair the way you want it, you can remove the curves and the hair keeps its shape. You're always working on the hairs themselves.
