スタンダードシェーダー の導入以前は、Unity には 80 以上のビルトインシェーダーが付属しており、そのそれぞれが異なる用途を持っていました。これらのシェーダーは、過去との互換性のために現在も Unity に同梱されており使用可能ですが、新しいプロジェクトには可能な限りスタンダードシェーダーの使用をお勧めします。
最大効率を発揮する旧ビルドインシェーダーの使い方を説明します。このガイドはビルトインシェーダーの分類( Family )について説明したうえで個別のシェーダーについて細かく説明していきます。
