    Install the package

Install the Steamworks API package in your Unity project.

Before you install the package, understand the following requirements.

    Prerequisites

    • Unity Editor version 6000.0 or later on Windows, macOS, or Linux
    • A build target of 64-bit Windows, macOS, or Linux
    • A copy of the Steamworks SDK version 1.65, which is the version the package supports

    Installation

To create builds for Steam on the Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms, you can install the Steamworks API package from the Unity Package Manager.

To install the package by name, use the technical name: com.unity.steamworks-api.

    Note

In Unity Editor versions 6000.7 and later, when you create a build profile for the Steam platform, the Steamworks API package appears as a recommended package that you can choose to install. If your project uses the Platform Toolkit package for Steamworks, Unity installs the Steamworks API package automatically.

After you install the package, set up your Steamworks application and import the Steamworks SDK into your project. For more information, refer to Configure your Unity project for the Steamworks API.
