Install the package
Understand the following requirements before installing the Microsoft GDK Intelligent Delivery package in your project.
System requirements
The Microsoft GDK Intelligent Delivery package requires the Windows development environment and Microsoft Game Development Kit (GDK). Choose one of the following GDK installation methods that best suits your development workflow:
- Install the complete Microsoft Game Development Kit (GDK): This is the recommended approach. Refer to Game Development Kit (GDK) documentation.
- Build Without Install (BWOI): Use the GDK directly from extracted files without a full installation. This is for advanced users. For more information, refer to Build without install overview.
Unity Editor requirements
The Microsoft GDK Intelligent Delivery package supports Unity Editor versions 6.5 and later.
Installation
You can install the Microsoft GDK Intelligent Delivery package from Unity's Package Manager window (menu: Window > Package Manager). To install the package by name, refer to the documentation on Install a UPM package by name. The package name is com.unity.microsoft.gdk.intelligent-delivery and the display name is Intelligent Delivery.
The Unity Package Manager automatically installs the following required dependencies, if not already installed.
