Produce layer images (preview)
When you take a shot with Forma Render, you can enable the Custom Layers AOV.
Enabling the Custom Layers AOV does the following:
- Renders a separate image for each Custom Layer component
- Removes any mesh that isn't a child of a given Custom Layer component
Produce layers with ambient occlusion and reflections
To produce layers with ambient occlusion and reflections:
- Enable raytracing and HDRP with DirectX12
- Use the RTAO and RTR volumes
Use layers in digital content creation (DCC) tools
To use layers in DCC tools:
- Go to Settings > Exports: Arbitrary Output Variables (AOVs).
- Select the Layers output type. This exports all selected AOVs in a single multipart EXR file, which you can open as a pre-composited image with a free Photoshop plugin.
Use layers with image on-demand
To use layers with image on-demand, use the AOV argument to specify a Custom Layer name. For more details, see Render with image on-demand.
