    Navigating the 3D view

    You can use the Forma Render camera to navigate the 3D view of the product. The following camera navigation modes are available:

    • Orbit
    • Zoom
    • Pan
    • Fly

    You can use presets to map device inputs to different navigation modes. The following presets are available:

    • Unity
    • 3dsMax
    • Maya
    • Blender

    Navigating the camera view and presets

    Use the following to navigate the camera view:

    Action Input
    Look around RMB+🖱️
    Move W/A/S/D+RMB
    Move up E+RMB
    Move down Q+RMB
    Dutch clockwise numpad 6
    Dutch counterclockwise numpad 4

    Use the following to navigate presets:

    LMB = Left mouse button
    MMB = Middle mouse button (wheel button)
    RMB = Right mouse button
    🖱️ = Mouse movement

    Using camera types

    You can change the camera movement type by using the inspector in the camera panel. Cameras imported from the Forma Editor have fixed types and can only be changed in the editor.

    The movement of different camera types is restricted to the following:

    Type Description
    None You can't move the camera. The position and orientation of the camera are fixed.
    Rotation Use your right mouse button to rotate the camera.
    Orbit Hold Alt+left mouse button and drag the cursor to move the camera around its focal point.
    Pan Hold Alt+wheel button and drag the cursor to move the camera side-to-side and up and down along its current plane.
    Translation Hold Alt+right mouse button and drag the cursor to move the camera forward and backward.
    Multi-location Use the right and left arrow keys to move the camera to pre-defined waypoints. The position and orientation of the camera are fixed. You can't create multi-location cameras in Forma Render; you must import them from the Forma Editor.
    Free The camera has full freedom of movement.

    You can also press the F key to focus on the product when using a Rotation, Pan, or Free camera.

    Manipulating a product

    To manipulate a product, you must first select it in game view. You can then use the following keys:

    Key Action
    Q Disable
    M Isolate variant or feature
    W Move
    E Rotate
    R Scale
    Z and X Change pivot mode

    Rendering parts of a product

    You can isolate parts of a product for component rendering by selecting a variant or feature of the product with your left mouse button. You can then use the following keys:

    Key Action
    M Isolate variant or feature / Undo isolation
    I Inverse the current isolation mask

    You can perform component rendering at the same time as batch rendering.
