Upgrade Guide

By default, Forma Render saves data in your "My Documents/Render Studio vX.Y" folder. If you have upgraded your version of Forma Render, it may be using a different folder than the one you were using previously and so your assets may need to be re-imported.

Shots

You can import shots made using a previous version of Forma Render from within the application by going to Settings > General > Backwards Compatibility. There, you will see the options which versions of Forma Render that you can import old shots from.

Domes

You can import domes from a previous version by copying the files from "My Documents\RenderStudio vX.Y\domes" to the corresponding domes folder in the new Forma Render folder.

Products

You can import products from a previous version by copying the files from "My Documents\RenderStudio vX.Y\products" to the corresponding products folder in the new Forma Render folder.

Batches

You can import batches from a previous version by copying the files from "My Documents\RenderStudio vX.Y\batches" to the corresponding batches folder in the new Forma Render folder.

Please note that batches are currently not guaranteed to be backwards compatible.
