    Navigating the 3D view

    Forma Render includes a default Camera that you can use to navigate the 3D view by flying around as an observer in the Scene.

    To navigate the 3D view in the Forma Render interface, follow these steps:

    1. Press and hold the right mouse button.
    2. Use the mouse to change your perspective in the view.
    3. To move left, right, forward, or backward, use the WASD keys on your keyboard.
    4. To move up and down in the scene, use the Q and E keys.

    There are also different types of cameras and each camera type has movement restrictions. You can change the camera movement type using the inspector in the Camera panel. However, note that cameras that are imported from the Forma Editor have fixed types and can only be changed from Forma Editor.

    Type Description
    None The camera's position and orientation are fixed.
    Rotation The camera cannot move but can swivel with the right mouse button.
    Orbit The camera is restricted to movement around it's focal point with Alt+left-click and drag.
    Pan The camera can only translate side-to-side and up/down along it's current plane with Alt+middle mouse button and drag.
    Translation The camera can only translate forward and backwards with Alt+right-click and then drag.
    Multi-Location The camera's position and orientation are fixed but it can jump to pre-defined waypoints with the left and right arrow keys. Note that Multi-Location cameras can only be imported from the Forma Editor and cannot be created in Forma Render.
    Free The camera has full freedom of movement.

    Manipulating the Product

    Forma Render includes the ability to select, move, and rotate your Product.

    1. Press the left mouse button over your Product in the game view.
    2. Your Product should be outlined.
    Key Action
    Q Disable
    M Isolate variant or feature
    W Move
    E Rotate
    R Scale
    Z and X Change pivot mode

    Rendering parts of the Product

    Forma Render includes the ability to select and isolate parts of your Product for component rendering. This can be used in conjunction with batch rendering.

    1. Press the left mouse button over your Product in the game view.
    2. Your product should be outlined.
    3. Press the left mouse button over the Product's variant or feature that you want to isolate in the game view.
    4. Your variant or feature should be outlined.
    Key Action
    M Isolate variant or feature, or undo isolation
    I Inverse the current isolation mask
