Prerequisites
Before you start using the Unity Cloud Collaboration Tools package, make sure you meet the following prerequisites.
System requirements
- Unity Editor version 6000.0 or later
- A valid Unity ID account, signed in to the Unity Editor
- A new or existing Unity Project that's connected to Unity Cloud
Note
The Collaboration button in the Editor's main toolbar requires Unity 6000.3 or later. On Unity 6000.0 to 6000.2, open the Collaboration window from the Unity Cloud > Collaboration menu instead. All other features work the same on every supported version.
Connect your project to Unity Cloud
The collaboration tools store threads in your Unity Cloud project, so you must link your Unity Project to one:
- Go to Edit > Project Settings > Services.
- Sign in if prompted, then link the project to your organization by selecting an existing Unity Cloud project or creating a new one.
Until you connect the project, the collaboration tools stay disabled and their buttons show the tooltip Project is not yet connected to the Cloud.
Access and permissions
- You must be a member of the Unity Cloud organization that owns the project.
- Your role in the project must allow collaboration features. If threads don't load, contact your organization administrator.
- The Editor needs network access to reach Unity Cloud services.
Compatibility
The Unity Cloud Collaboration Tools package is an Editor-only tool: it adds no runtime components to your builds and has no player platform requirements.
The package automatically installs the following dependencies:
